Inspirations and Ideas

I wanted to continue the use of fabric and dancers as I felt there was so much I could of done but didnt have enough time to finish it. The previous task I moved into the studio whereas, I want to keep the fabric and dancer outside. Therefore I have decided to find poems related around the elements of nature such as earth, air, water and fire and use it within dance and fabric.

There is deeper meaning with the four elements. Below are the astorlical meaning for the four different signs and what star signs they relate to and there meaning

Fire- Aries, Leo and Sagitarious
Keywords: Strong, dramatic, enthusiastic, direct, outgoing, joyful

Air- Gemini, Libra, and Aquarious
Keywords: Creative, positive, intellectual, communication

Earth- Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn
Keywords: Physical, practical, patient and persistent

Water- Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces
Keywords: Emotional, responsive, reflective, fertile

Therefore, I want to use these elements and relate them with dance. Also not only just these four elements I want to use as inspiration I want to expand them such as not only water but use waves as inspiration so I could have an image that is still like water but one that is high and more energic like a wave. So it still symbolises water but metaphorically has more than one meaning.

An inspiring photographer is Eugenio Recuenco (website below) from Madrid, Spain. Below are examples of Recuenco's work

I like the use of lens flare across the model and the foggy/misty effect it gives to the image

I included these two images as the use of stitching two images together to create a paramic photo. Also, the use of blur within the image

I included to these images because of the use of fabric and stitching and hope to use this technique when photographing my dancers with their fabric
